Victoria Arnett LRAD ARAD danced from the age of 5 years,
successfully auditioning for the renowned Bush Davies School in East Grinstead
where she combined studying a wide range of dance subjects with A-levels.
She completed the 3-year Teacher Training course at the Royal Academy of
Dance in London, gaining the Licentiate Diploma.
Her first teaching engagement took her to Norway, followed by many years
working in Germany. During this time she was a member of a ballet company,
dancing leading roles. Remaining in Germany she taught ballet, jazz and
contemporary dance to children and adults and creative dance for children
at several dance schools in different regions. During the last few years she
was invited to hold jazz dance workshops for teachers.
She has entered pupils for RAD ballet exams for a number of years
with a 100% success rate.
She opened Brighton & Hove Dance Academy in September 2007.
Her aim is for the students to experience as broad a spectrum of movement
as possible within each dance discipline. Pupils therefore have free,
non-syllabus classes besides their exam work, helping them to develop
faster than purely syllabus-trained dancers.
Adult classes offer a relaxed, friendly, yet hard-working atmosphere for
those with previous experience and who have put exams behind them,
as well as an introduction to ballet for beginners.
